HE Mr. Jaber Jaralla Al-Merri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, met with HE Mr. Hideaki Ohmura, Governor of Aichi Prefecture. During the meeting, the two sides discussed avenues of cooperation with the city of Nagoya during its hosting of the 2026 Asian Games, including the promotion of cultural and publicity activities accompanying this major continental sporting event. They also reviewed ways to cooperate as part of the early preparations for Doha’s hosting of the 2030 Asian Games, with the aim of expanding sports and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Koji Yamaguchi, President of the Min-On Music Museum, received HE Mr. Jaber Jaralla Al-Merri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, as part of efforts to strengthen cultural ties between the two friendly countries. During the visit, His Excellency was briefed on the museum’s activities and events aimed at promoting music culture and fostering artistic exchange, including the organization of joint events and exhibitions to introduce the Japanese public to Qatar’s musical and cultural heritage. The meeting also discussed opportunities for cooperation between the museum and relevant institutions in the State of Qatar.

HE Mr. Jaber Jaralla Al-Marri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, attended the forum organized by Media City Qatar in Tokyo, which brought together over 450 leading figures from the creative industries to explore opportunities for expanding Japanese intellectual property on the global stage.

HE Mr. Isato Kunisada, Parliamentary Vice-Minister at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan, received HE Mr. Jaber Jaralla Al-Marri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, at his office at the Ministry’s headquarters in Tokyo.

The Qatar Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, hosted a special celebration marking Qatar's National Day, as part of the official celebrations organised by the Expo Committee for participating countries.

HE Mr. Jaber Jaralla Al-Marri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, participated in the annual general meeting of the Japan-Qatar Friendship Association. The meeting included a presentation on the association’s activities during the past year and a discussion of future plans to further enhance cooperation between the two countries.

HE Mr. Ito was briefed on the pavilion’s exhibits, which highlight the Qatar National Vision 2030 and reflect the country’s cultural heritage and its achievements in sustainable development.

HE Mr. Tomoyuki Yoshida, Chief Executive Director of the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA), received HE Mr. Jaber Jaralla Al-Marri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, at his office. The meeting focused on exploring avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation between the Institute and relevant institutions in the State of Qatar, with the aim of promoting mutual interests and further strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries.
