HIM Emperor Naruhito of Japan received a courtesy call at the Imperial Palace from HH the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. At the outset of the meeting, HH the Emir expressed to HIM the Emperor his sincere condolences on the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. During the meeting, His Highness and His Imperial Majesty reviewed the close relations between the two friendly countries and touched upon many topics of mutual interest.

HE Mr. Taro Kono, Member of the House of Representatives of Japan, former Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Director-General of the International Bureau of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, received HE Mr. Jaber Jaralla Al-Marri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, at his office. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the Middle East, and reviewed aspects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, as well as ways to support and further strengthen them across various fields, in a manner that serves their mutual interests.

H.E. Mr. Jaber Jaralla Al-Merri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, participated in the Arabic Language Reading Competition held in Tokyo on the occasion of the World Arabic Language Day. The event was organized by Tokyo University of Foreign Studies in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in Tokyo. This participation reflects the State of Qatar’s support for cultural initiatives that contribute to fostering intercultural dialogue, strengthening the status of the Arabic language, and building bridges of cultural exchange between the Arab world and Japan.

Ambassador of the State of Qatar Meets Japan’s Prime Minister

HE Mr. Jaber Jaralla Al-Marri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, met with HE Ms. Sanae Takaichi, Prime Minister of Japan, during the Autumn Garden Party hosted by Their Majesties Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako at the Akasaka Imperial Gardens. The event was attended by senior government officials and distinguished figures from Japanese society.

HE Mr. Jaber Jaralla Al-Marri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, welcomed Her Excellency Ms. Yuriko Koike, Governor of Tokyo, at the State of Qatar’s Pavilion during her visit to Expo 2025 Osaka. During the visit, Her Excellency was briefed on the components of the Qatari Pavilion, which showcases developmental and cultural projects as well as forward-looking visions that reflect the State’s commitment to innovation and cross-cultural engagement. She expressed her appreciation for Qatar’s distinguished presence at the exhibition. ​
