HIM Emperor Naruhito of Japan received a courtesy call at the Imperial Palace from HH the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. At the outset of the meeting, HH the Emir expressed to HIM the Emperor his sincere condolences on the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. During the meeting, His Highness and His Imperial Majesty reviewed the close relations between the two friendly countries and touched upon many topics of mutual interest.

The event was hosted by three distinguished members of the Japanese Diet: HE. Mr. Keishi Abe, Member of the House of Representatives from the Japan Innovation Party; HE Mr. Jesús Fukasaku, Member of the House of Representatives from the Democratic Party for the People; and HE. Ms. Kaoru Fukuda, Member of the House of Representatives from the Liberal Democratic Party.
