HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, attended the state funeral of former Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo which was held by the Japanese government at Nippon Budokan Hall in Tokyo. His Highness offered his condolences to Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Fumio Kishida, senior officials and family members of the former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, at Akasaka Palace in Tokyo. And in a message of condolences HH sent just after Abe's death, the HH the Emir said Abe was a true friend of Qatar and supported the strong relationship between Qatar and Japan.

The Embassy participated in the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour sponsored by Coca-Cola, to all 32 countries that qualified for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, including Japan. The event was attended by President of the Japan Football Association Mr. Kohzo Tashima, President of Coca-Cola Japan Mr. Jorge Garduno, former Brazilian football star Rivaldo, and former Japanese football star Yoshito Okubo.

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman H.E. Mr. Youssef bin Alawi bin Abdullah, who is currently visiting Tokyo to be honored by His Majesty Emperor Naruhito with the 'Order of the Rising Sun' which is the highest Japanese decoration offered to foreigners, and Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman H.E. Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al Busaidi, received at the Embassy of Oman in Tokyo yesterday, H.E. We are happy to announce the launch of the official logo of the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the State of Qatar and Japan this year.
