HE Mr. Jaber bin Jarallah Al Marri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, met with Mr. Yoetsu Ishimori, Chairman of Onagawa Fish Buyer's Association, during his visit to Onagawa Town in Miyagi Prefecture.

At the invitation of HE the Mayor of Onagawa town, Miyagi Prefecture, HE Mr. Jaber bin Jarallah Al Marri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, visited the Town. During his visit, HE met with HE Mr. Suda Yoshiaki, Mayor of Onagawa Town, and observed the remarkable recovery and significant development achieved in the region, which had suffered extensive devastation due to the earthquake and tsunami of March 2011. It is worth noting that Onagawa Twon is one of the beneficiaries of the Qatar Friendship Fund, established to support the rehabilitation efforts in the affected areas.

The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Tokyo participated in the "Minato Blossom Festa" held last weekend on Saturday and Sunday, organizing a special pavilion to introduce visitors to Qatari culture and traditions. The pavilion featured various activities, including henna art, Arabic calligraphy, and a corner where visitors could try on traditional Qatari attire and take commemorative photos. This provided a unique opportunity for attendees to experience and appreciate the rich heritage of Qatar.

HE Mr. Jaber bin Jarallah Al-Marri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, received HE Mr. Hisajima Naoto, the newly appointed Japanese Ambassador to the State of Qatar. During the meeting, HE congratulated HE Mr. Hisajima on his appointment, wishing him success in his future endeavors. HE expressed his aspiration to further develop and strengthen bilateral relations in a manner that serves the shared interests of both countries.

During the meeting, opportunities for joint cooperation were discussed to support Qatar’s preparations for EXPO 2025 and to strengthen relations with Japanese local governments.
