HE Mr. Jaber Jaralla AL-MARRI, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, paid a courtesy visit to the Waseda University. His Excellency was welcomed upon arrival by President of Waseda University Dr. Aiji Tanaka, the University's Vice President for International Affairs Dr. Masahiko Gemma, Director of Islamic Area Studies at the University Dr. Keiko Sakurai, and a number of professors and ranking faculty members. During the visit, both sides discussed about the 'Chair of the State of Qatar for Islamic Area Studies' and followed up on the progress. Ambassador Al-Marri expressed his willingness for any future collaboration between the State of Qatar and Waseda University.

HE Ms. Yuriko Koike, Governor of Tokyo, received the delegation of the Central Municipal Council of the State of Qatar, headed by the President of the Council, HE Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al-Athba, in the presence of HE Mr. Jaber Jaralla M. A. AL-MARRI, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, as part of the visit of the Central Municipal Council delegation to Tokyo.

A delegation from the Central Municipal Council of Qatar, headed by the Council President HE Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al-Athba, and in the presence of HE Mr. Jaber Jaralla M. A. AL-MARRI, the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, met with HE Mr. Satoshi Udagawa, President of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly. The meeting addressed several issues of mutual interest in the municipal field and explored Japanese expertise in infrastructure and environmental issues.

This visit came in preparation for their scheduled visit to the State of Qatar at the end of March 2024. During the meeting, they discussed the details of the visit to Qatar as well as ways to enhance cooperation between the Assembly and relevant authorities in the State of Qatar.
