The Embassy participates in an event sponsored by Tokyo Metropolitan Government to promote the Qatari heritage

As part of its efforts to promote friendship and understanding with the Japanese society, the Embassy held an introductory day for the State of Qatar at Japanese Kami-Itabashi Junior School, on an invitation by the school administration in cooperation with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Officials from the Education Department of the Metropolitan Government, the school administration and around 400 students attended the event.

 

Mr. Abdullah bin Jassim Alzeyara, the Minister Plenipotentiary at the embassy, ​​gave a presentation on the Qatari heritage, culture, folklore and popular arts, pointing out that Doha is one of the capitals of Arab culture that attracts various aspects of cultural and sports creativity in the region. He also talked about the importance of the Qatari-Japanese relations and the cooperation between the two countries in the field of oil/ gas among many other fields, as well as the strong friendship between the two governments and the people of both countries.

 

Mr. Abdullah answered the questions and inquiries of students, which focused on the cultural and sports aspects. He gave them some brochures and CDs, explaining to them the preparations happening in the country to host the FIFA World Cup in 2022. He pointed to the role of Japanese companies in implementing many projects and state-of-the-art sports facilities in the state. He finally invited them to attend this prestigious sporting event and added that the Qatari people are also paying great attention to the Olympic Games hosted by Tokyo in 2020.
