HE Mr. Manabo Miyagawa, Assistant Foreign Minister of Japan and Director General of the Department of Cultural Affairs, Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received HE Mr. Hassan bin Mohammed Rafei Al Emadi, our Ambassador to Japan, at his office at the Japanese Foreign Ministry. 

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations, means of enhancing them, and a number of issues of mutual interest.

Mr. Miyagawa noted the successful visit of His Highness the Emir of the State of Qatar to Japan last January and said that it has contributed to strengthening and diversifying the existing friendship and cooperation between Japan and Qatar to include economical, political and cultural aspects. He also pointed out that the year 2021, marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and they want to celebrate that occasion with establishing joint cultural and sporting events to deepen the ties between the people of the two friendly countries.

 The meeting was attended by Mr. Abdullah bin Jassem, the Minister Plenipotentiary.
