His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, and His Excellency Mr. Shinzo Abe, prime Minister of Japan, held an official meeting on Tuesday at the Prime minister's office in Tokyo.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Japanese Prime Minister welcomed His Highness the Amir and the accompanying delegation, recalling His Highness's recent visit to Japan four years ago and the subsequent meetings, noting that Japan attaches the most confidence to the gas-exporting State of Qatar. He noted that the year 2021 will mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, as well as the 2022 World Cup will be hosted by the State of Qatar, looking forward to further communication to strengthen the bilateral relations.
