Qatar’s Ambassador to Japan Participates in the Annual Meeting of the Japan-Qatar Friendship Association

HE Mr. Jaber Jaralla Al-Marri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, participated in the annual general meeting of the Japan-Qatar Friendship Association. The meeting included a presentation on the association’s activities during the past year and a discussion of future plans to further enhance cooperation between the two countries. The meeting was attended by prominent businessmen and executives from 41 of Japan’s major companies. It included an overview of key reciprocal visits by senior officials and association members, along with associated events. The discussions also covered the outcomes of meetings among members and the roadmap for activities and events to be implemented in the coming year.
In his speech, HE expressed his gratitude to the Friendship Association for its ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations, highlighting the strategic partnership between Qatar and Japan in the fields of energy, economy, and culture. HE emphasized that the Qatar-Japan partnership is based on mutual respect, trust, and shared values, and that the ongoing cooperation in critical areas such as energy security, economic development, and innovation serves as a model for international relations.
HE further noted that the energy sector, particularly liquefied natural gas, remains the cornerstone of the partnership between the two countries. HE pointed out that cooperation extends beyond oil and gas to include diverse sectors such as petrochemicals, trade, and engineering. HE also commended the role of Japanese companies in driving growth and innovation in the State of Qatar.
HE also addressed Japan's role in supporting innovation and growth in Qatar, emphasizing the importance of cultural initiatives such as the Qatar Chair at Waseda University and Qatar's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka. In conclusion, HE called for continued efforts to explore new opportunities that would bring mutual benefits and contribute to the development of cooperation in various economic and cultural fields.
