HE Mr. Jaber bin Jarallah Al-Merri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, signed the participation contract for the Yokohama International Horticultural Expo 2027 with HE Mr. Kazuhiro Koshikawa, Commissioner-General of the Expo, and Mr. Masato Komura, Secretary-General of the Expo Secretariat. The Expo is scheduled to take place from 19 March to 26 September 2027.

With this signature, the State of Qatar becomes the first country to formalize its participation with Japan, the host nation, marking the handover of the Expo flag to Japan following the resounding success of Expo 2023 Doha (2 October 2023 – 28 March 2024), and reflecting the deepening and diversification of the strategic partnership between the two friendly countries.
